In order to enable students to learn caring for others and serve the community, P.5 students had service learning activities to practise the spirit of caring for others through community service during Inquiry Learning & Global Civic lessons. They visited TWGHs Chan Tat Chee Connect Community Support Centre for the Elderly, TWGHs Chan Tat Chee Connect Community Support Centre for the Elderly and TWGHs Wilson T.S. Wang District Elderly Community Centre. They made rice dumpling decorations with the elderly and had a joyful time chatting with them. They also conducted home visits and in-estate interviews with co-organiser volunteers and school parent volunteers to care for the elderly in Shui Chuen O Estate, showing concern for the elderly and listening to their life wisdom and encouragement, bringing them love and care. In addition, one group of the students visited The Salvation Army Shui Chuen O Kindergarten. They played games and shared stories with the kindergarten children. They spent a happy afternoon with them.
This is the first time for most of the P.5 students to participate in community service. However, during the service process, they were brave to try, carefully take care of the service targets, and patiently care for their needs. Their empathy brought warmth to the elderly and kindergarten children, and they were able to "Spread Love Outward".
